Minister of Ministry of Interior Affairs, Mr. Wais Ahmad Barmak

Mr Wais Ahmad Barmak was appointed as a Minister for the Ministry of Interior Affairs on 04 December 2017, having served since October 2015 as State Minister for Disaster Management and Humanitarian Affairs and head of the Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority.

In the early days of the National Unity Government, Mr Barmak served as Special Envoy for H.E.  President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on good governance and security, followed by a short-term engagement with the UN’s International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
